Tennis Tayside had been hoping to be able to run some form of the Winter League indoors but as we all know the everchanging guidelines and restrictions, especially for the venue providers, have been extensive not to mention the difficulties associated with travel, so we have confirmed that the Winter League for this year will not be going ahead.
I have been in touch with our three main indoor court venues – David Lloyd, St Andrews University and Gleneagles – to see if there was any possibility of indoor court social play. Understandably, all three are prioritizing their members and are therefore reluctant to have additional persons on their premises who are non-members. St Andrews are the only ones who have said that if any non members want to play then they should call 01334 462190 and Reception will see whether or not they can book them in. Gleneagles are offering indoor courts to their members but not to any non-members and certainly no discounts!
It is a tough situation for all at the moment and we can only hope that we shall get through it eventually.
